Why Aren’t My YouTube Videos Earning Very Much Through Adsense Monetization?

One of the most common questions I get is “Why aren’t my YouTube videos earning very much?” or the similar “Why are you making that much on your videos when I am making much less?”.

To help everyone in one swift move I thought I would just make a simple guide that teaches you how to find out what your earning problem is for yourself. Teach a man to fish and such. Check out the video below for a run through of what you should be looking for.

Mike Morhaime wrote us a letter? Patch 1.1? What the hell is going on? Diablo III Status Update Episode 50!

Mike Morhaime has only made one official post on Blizzard’s official website, personally, ever. This was the “soon-was-too-soon” post regarding the Diablo III release date delay. Now he is back, making a lengthy write up to the community, and even apologizing for certain elements of the game. This is starting to sound like FFXIV all over again…

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, I present to you Diablo III Status Update episode 50. On today’s episode, I give a concise opinion about the letter that Mike Morhaime wrote the community, and express my hopes and concerns for the future. This game is starting to sound a bit like FFXIV, and for those of you that don’t know, it’s time for story time.

FFXI was my first MMORPG. It was one of my only MMORPGs, and to this day it holds a special place in my heart. If I won the lottery and had nothing to do everyday, I would probably continue to play the original FFXI published in 2001. The game was mind blowing, and the gameplay still holds a special place in my heart. The graphics aren’t bad to look at either, and the title was published over a decade ago. That being said, FFXIV was basically supposed to be FFXI-2. It had all of the same races, with different names and backstories, but they were virtually identical in appearance and stats.

Orcs Must Die is Awesome! First Look in Five Episode 4 is Live!

Orcs Must Die, an action-strategy game, is made by the indie developer Robot Entertainment. This game is absolute joy, as it features addictive, fast-paced gameplay with an element of strategy and tactics to it.

There is so much I could say about this game in so few words. This is one of the best indie games that I have ever played. To be perfectly honest, when I saw gameplay footage of this game late last year I had no idea that this was an indie title. The graphics, and music of the game engage the player in a unique and addictive experience; it’s quite a simple action game with an element of choice thrown into the mix. This element of choice, in choosing what spells to use, and how many times to use each limited spell, adds a great deal of complexity to the game.

The game’s goal is simple; kill orcs. Waves of orcs will flow forth at you from across the level in which you are in, which traps, which are created by spells, to use, and how many of each trap is up to you. In addition, the player has free roam over the 3D environment and can choose whether he wants to fight close to the orcs with a melee weapon or to move backwards, firing a crossbow at them (which has a wonderfully realistic recoil effect, by the way), or a mixture of both.

You can find the video on YouTube here.

The game is available on the Steam summer sale for low price of $7.49 until July 23rd.

A First Look at Trine 2 Gameplay, in a Little More Than 5!

I remember that my first video game on a console was Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island for the SNES. Today, games of that genre, platformers, are few and far-between, and rarely seen in the mainstream video game market. Today I did a first look at Trine 2, a platformer made by Frozenbyte, an indie company. The game is available, and even on sale, through Steam.

Trine 2 is a fantastic game that, rather than creating compulsions like most of today’s hot titles, the game satisfies compulsions. The game is a medium-paced side scrolling platforming game with three available characters, the thief, the wizard, and the warrior. The game’s graphics are absolutely phenomenal to the point where I have not even tried maxing out the settings, for fear that my FPS will be demolished.

The game is different from a traditional platformer because it has three different characters that one can swap between at any point in time during the game, which gives a very wide variety of solutions to potential problems. If you haven’t picked up on the vibe yet, the game also has a serious aspect of problem solving to it, so much that it is considered both a puzzle game and a platformer.

If you act today, you can find the game for sale on Steam for under three dollars, an incredible bargain! The only con that the game has is that the story is, though detailed, somewhat bland and stereotypical. On the other hand, however, when has anyone ever bought a platformer for the story line?

Trine 2 is available on Steam and as a digital download on Amazon for PC and Mac.

Real-Life High Score is happy to welcome fellow YouTuber MackTen as a staffer to the website! MackTen currently operates a YouTube channel related to Diablo III, StarCraft II, and gaming as a whole.

Hello, my name is Charles “MackTen” Cowan and I’m proud to finally be a part of Real Life High Score! I have been talking to ZiggyD for several weeks now, and I have been producing videos on YouTube since about this past February. If you are interested in my backstory, please check the “About” section of the website. At the moment, I am working on several YouTube miniseries. Two of the miniseries that I am currently producing are related specifically to Diablo III, and making money on the real money auction house. My weekly show “The Mailroom” responds to community questions, comments, concerns, complaints, and general feedback. My show “First Look in Five” gives a brief introduction to a new and unique title. For more information, please see my biography under the About section of the website!

However, let’s get down to real reason you are probably reading this article. You want to play the DotA 2 beta. Everyone wants to play DotA 2. Who doesn’t want to play DotA 2? So, I have two DotA 2 Beta Invites for one lucky individual! One lucky person out there, and one extremely lucky friend of this lucky person, will get to play the DotA 2 beta for free. The giveaway is a complete lottery, everyone has a chance to win!

So, if you didn’t catch the video above, all you have to do is:

1. Follow me on Twitter @mackxten!

2. Send me a tweet telling me why you want the pair of DotA 2 Beta Invites!

3. Wait until this coming Wednesday to find out who won during this week’s episode of “The Mailroom!”

I’m going to write down every single twitter account that tweets me about the giveaway on separate pieces of paper, and I will then draw the winner out of a hat. I know, I’m just old-fashioned like that. However, I will check to see if you are a follower of mine on Twitter and if you aren’t… someone else will be playing your copy of the DotA 2 beta!
