How to get started playing DotA 2: Don’t Feed Noob Episode 1!

After an extended contest on MackTen’s YouTube channel, a winner was finally chosen for their input towards designing a weekly DotA 2 YouTube show. As one can see above, the show is titled “Don’t Feed Noob!” and will give a brief introduction to different aspects of DotA 2 every week.

Hey guys, MackTen here. It’s a pleasure to finally be finished sorting out all of these ideas for a show, and to get started on the business of putting one on every week! Every week the show will discuss a different aspect of DotA 2, starting out extremely basic and slowly progressing into move advanced elements of the game. This week’s show, the first episode, features three  distinct segments:

1. Where do I begin? Where’s a good place to learn not just what these heroes do, but how one can effectively use them?

2. What’s are the principle differences between League of Legends and Defense of the Ancients? In what ways are the two games similar?

3. Don’t feed noob; when in doubt, play defensively!

Diablo 3’s Starter Edition is Now Available for Free Without an Invite

If you are still unsure about spending money on the game then this is a great way for you to finally try it out with no risk. Don’t be too deterred by a lot of the negative attention Diablo 3 has gotten either, although the game might be lacking an endgame it has a lot to offer, easily over 100 hours of gameplay for any casual player.

This starter edition will allow you play all of the classes up to level 13 with no time restrictions, however you cannot go past the Skeleton King miniboss in Act . If you end up wanting to buy the game after this taster then you get to keep your level 13 trial characters to continue playing with, so you don’t lose any of your progress.

This ‘starter edition’ is available through Battle net on new or existing accounts, so all you have to do is log in and go to the “Your Game Accounts’ page to add the starter edition to your account.

Once you do this you can install the game using a friends disc or by downloading the installer from battlenet. If you need to download the game client set aside a few hours in advance, unless you have a pretty fast internet connection. Its a large game and there have been a number of patches that will need to be downlaoded as well.

You can read more about the starter edition here.

Rift Storm Legion – Harbinger Revealed

Trion Worlds is working on an expansion pack for their hit MMORPG, Rift, and I couldn’t be more excited. They plan to expand Telera’s geography by adding two new continents of comparable size, as well as a new soul for each of the four callings.

The Rift dev team recently revealed the Mage’s new soul, the Harbinger, on an online stream on Twitch TV and after finding out what was in store for Storm Legion, I was so pumped that I had to make a video to tell everyone about it.

I should apologize ahead of time for the length and tangential nature of the video. When I get excited about something nerdy it’s hard to stop me from gushing about it.

I also think I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Tom, aka Pandamanana, and I was invited to Real Life Highscore by ZiggyD. We met due to our mutual enjoyment of MarkeeDragon videos and we’ve helped each other out in our Youtube endeavors ever since.

After five years of making videos on Youtube, I’ve noticed just how ‘hush-hush’ the whole business is and how unwilling people are to help their fellow Youtuber. I’m really glad the guys here at RL Highscore are making it a priority to share in both their video gaming and internet entrepreneurship adventures. In an attempt to help out, I made a video about Trion Worlds’ Terms of Service agreement and how it allows Youtubers to create Rift content with only a few rules which must be met. You can find that video here. I hope it helps.

You can also watch the Trion Worlds live stream Harbinger reveal event, you can find it on Youtube here.

ZiggyD Interviewed by Tom ‘Pandamana’ – YouTube Success and Gaming

G’day, ZiggyD here. I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Tom aka Pandamana for his YouTube channel.

I have been watching Tom’s content on his YouTube channel Pandamana for a few weeks now and I have been enjoying his intelligent, opinionated commentary on the video gaming community. Tom is is a bit of a similar mind when it comes to the gaming industry, not always in opinion, but in his approach to what he is passionate about. So when he asked if I would be willing to talk to him about my YouTube and gaming experiences I was more than keen.

I love to talk about what I do, the opportunity just doesn’t come up enough! We discuss my gaming experience, what we are playing now, creating content for YouTube and what we are looking forward to in gaming. Check it out below.

If you would like to check out Tom’s VLOG-style commentaries on the video game industry then you can do so on his channel Pandamana. He also does more personal VLOGs on his channel Manavlogs.

We might be doing some collaborative content in the future so if you have any requests for topics you would like to see discussed then send them to us via YouTube or leave them here in the comments!
