Diablo 3: How Many Hours to Get to Paragon Level 100 and Where is Best to Farm XP

Paragon levels have been out for almost a week now on Diablo 3 and some people are already starting to reach the level 35-40 mark. This sparked a curiosity in me to research just how many hours it takes to get from Paragon level 1 to level 100. Whilst doing this I also found out the best parts of the game to farm for Paragon Experience.

Gearing Assumptions

In order to work out an amount of experience per hour I had to look at the amount of experience per mob in each Act and I also had to make an assumption about how fast players could work their way through mobs. You can find out specific details on the amounts of experience per mob in each act here.

Undergeared – 10 kills per minute.

Average Gear – 20 kills per minute.

Overgeared – 40 kills per minute.

Act 1

Undergeared – 2166 hours.

Average Gear – 1083 hours.

Overgeared – 541 hours.

Act 2

Undergeared – 1659 hours.

Average Gear – 830 hours.

Overgeared – 415 hours.

Act 3

Undergeared – 1447 hours.

Average Gear – 723 hours.

Overgeared – 362 hours.

Where is Best to Farm?

In the end it is quite simple, you should farm wherever you are overgeared. Clearing a larger amount of mobs more quickly pays out better then clearing less at a slower pace, even if their experience payouts are higher. If you are overgeared foir Act 2 but only average for Act 3 then you should farm Act 2 until you can get the gear to quickly do Act 3.

In the end though, you should farm wherever you fin the most fun. It’s going to take a while to get to Paragon level 100 either way and if you are not having fun then you are not going to make it to level 100 at all.
