If you are still unsure about spending money on the game then this is a great way for you to finally try it out with no risk. Don’t be too deterred by a lot of the negative attention Diablo 3 has gotten either, although the game might be lacking an endgame it has a lot to offer, easily over 100 hours of gameplay for any casual player.

This starter edition will allow you play all of the classes up to level 13 with no time restrictions, however you cannot go past the Skeleton King miniboss in Act . If you end up wanting to buy the game after this taster then you get to keep your level 13 trial characters to continue playing with, so you don’t lose any of your progress.

This ‘starter edition’ is available through Battle net on new or existing accounts, so all you have to do is log in and go to the “Your Game Accounts’ page to add the starter edition to your account.

Once you do this you can install the game using a friends disc or by downloading the installer from battlenet. If you need to download the game client set aside a few hours in advance, unless you have a pretty fast internet connection. Its a large game and there have been a number of patches that will need to be downlaoded as well.

You can read more about the starter edition here.
